  • Former President Trump alleged that President Biden couldn’t attend sporting events without being jeered.

  • The comments came as the former president ripped into his successor during a Saturday rally in Texas.

  • Trump himself has been booed at sporting events, including a 2019 World Series game in Washington.

Former President Donald Trump on Saturday blasted President Joe Biden’s leadership of the country — touching on everything from immigration to the economy — before alleging that his successor couldn’t attend a sporting event in the United States without being jeered.

Trump made the assertion during his latest “Save America” rally in Conroe, Texas, speaking to the MAGA faithful about his grievances with the Biden administration as he continues to float a potential White House bid in 2024.

“The incompetence of our leaders can be scarcely believed,” the former president said. “It’s a disaster and a disgrace what’s happened to our country … nobody can believe it.”

He continued: “Remember, there’s a reason that Joe Biden can’t walk into a sports stadium anywhere in America without being loudly mocked and ridiculed.”

Many in the crowd then began to chant the anti-Biden slogan “Let’s Go Brandon” while Trump looked on from the stage.

The phrase became a rallying cry among conservatives last October after the NBC Sports reporter Kelli Stavast said the crowd in the background of her interview with the NASCAR driver Brandon Brown was chanting, “Let’s go, Brandon,” when the audience could be heard chanting, “Fuck Joe Biden.”

Many Republicans have said they feel as though the reporter who used the sanitized language to deflect from the anti-Biden chant was engaging in a form of media bias, rather than an attempt to avoid violating strict Federal Communications Commission rules against swearing during the motorway broadcast.

At last September’s Congressional Baseball Game in Washington DC, Biden received a mix of cheers and boos after making an appearance at the matchup.

However, during the fifth game of the 2019 World Series, Trump himself was booed at Nationals Park in Washington, with loud chants of “Lock Him Up!” emanating from some attendees after he was shown on the jumbotron.

The phrase was a riff on one of Trump’s signature slogans that he used for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, his Democratic presidential opponent in the 2016 election.
